I first met Ms Sumi while opening the door for this lovely lady, with the most upright Stature & a smile that which would ‘light’ up a room & such a soft composure as she spoke to me saying ‘thank you’ & such expression of gratitude in those soft eyes that I immediately said … ‘Are you a Dancer?’
She then said ‘Yes!’ She complemented me to my surprise & said, as you were walking you appeared to be a little dancer too … of course no Qualification but a past Student in my island growing up in Jamaica, however, I’m part Portuguese (‘Out of Many One People’ is our Motto!’)
I then decided I would ask if I could do Refresher Dance lessons in Ballet as well Yoga with her if was still teaching … she said ‘Yes!’ & I of course Jumped In!
Such an excellent experience, & I was fortunate enough to take lessons at her Home Studio!
I was so impressed that Ms Sumi is a Graduate of sooo many Degrees in Dance along with Alexander Technique which I never heard of, but took a Session to correct Balance, Grace, Ease, Alignment & Balance.
I was invited to a Dance Concert at the Carsten Theatre at the Dairy Arts Centre and took family with me & it was a most enjoyable experience. Great Choreography, unexpected demonstrated by Ms Sumi & her Professional Dancers with such a Variety of Dance moves in both Eastern & Western Choreography along with Classical Ballet, & Modern Dance
I can’t wait for her next Show! Refreshing!
